Derek Regensburger
I am a landscape and portrait photographer living in Thornton, Colorado. I focus primarily on mountain and desert scenes of the West. I have traveled to Alaska, New Zealand, and Canada in search of the Earth's beauty but have found Colorado to be the equal of anywhere. My work has been featured in Mountain Living Magazine, Camping Life, the Denver Post, and Montana Magazine, to name a few.
My photographs are available for purchase through this website and a small sample of ready-to-frame work can be found at Reed Photo Art Gallery located at 833 Santa Fe in Denver. I am also one of several Colorado artists chosen to have their work prominently displayed in the Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital in Broomfield, CO.
In addition to nature scenics, I also shoot weddings, portraits, and action sports. I have performed work for the athletic departments of both the University of Denver and Colorado State and am a member of sportsshooter.com.
Through my photographs, I try to bring out the bold color and light of the western landscape. I am an avid hiker and backpacker. I have trekked across many of Colorado's mountain ranges and explored Utah's canyon country.
Most of my photographs are shot with a large format 4x5 camera, which gives them their depth and clarity. I also use a digital 35mm camera to capture macros and wildlife.
